3/1: Upcycled Weaving
3/1: Upcycled Weaving
Instructor: Sarah Gotowka
Time: Saturday March 1st, 11 - 4pm
Level: No experience necessary! First time weavers welcome!
Learn to weave using your old t-shirts, jeans and bedsheets! We have prepared our looms for you so you can come in and just have fun! The upcycled material you weave can be made into a floor rug, or be used in one of your own personal projects. (This stuff makes amazing tote bags!) If you’ve always been curious to try weaving, but hesitant to invest in equipment or space, this is the perfect time to dabble!
What to expect: After you register for this class, you will be emailed video instructions on how to prepare your material. (It’s basically a lot of cutting and winding into balls, so that you can optimize time here in the studio at the loom.) Then, during class you will be able to create a truly one-of-a-kind cloth, giving new life to your old textiles! Your weaving will measure 28” wide and can be woven to a maximum length of 44”. You then will be able to take your material home to use in any project, or we can finish them here in the studio and turn them into a rug.
P.S. Our weaving class sizes are capped at 3 people maximum to insure that each student receives the one-on-one attention necessary for learning the weaving process. All materials (besides your upcycled stuff) and equipment rental fees included!
Cancellation Policy:
Luna Fiber Studio unfortunately does not issue refunds. We of course understand that life dishes out unforeseen situations at inopportune times, however our class space is extremely limited and classes usually book up months in advance. When you purchase a class with us, you are reserving your spot with our small business and committing to showing up!
In the case of extreme weather conditions or illness of the instructor, class may be canceled and the fee you paid will turn into Studio Credit, where you will be able to use it towards any other service or product offered at Luna.
